Bobby Darnall brings unique perspectives and experiences to his role as Financial Advisor. His CPA certification and experience give him deep insights into each client’s financial situation — not only their taxes, but also their broader retirement picture. In addition, as a Certified Valuation Analyst, he provides counsel to business owner clients who are considering buying or selling a business, or exploring other alternatives to pursue personal goals.
Bobby’s career as a CPA and CVA has provided experience in taxation, commercial auditing, retirement plan auditing, consulting, mergers and acquisitions, and estate planning. Additionally, the personal experience of helping his self-employed wife set up a retirement account, prepare estimated taxes, and prepare financial statements has helped him understand and relate to his clients’ needs in a more profound way. To this end he says, “After helping my wife, a dentist, set up a SEP account I found myself better able to communicate the benefits of retirement accounts to my clients. That experience clarified the decisions my clients face and the information they need so we can work together to make better informed financial decisions.”
Although he has lived across the south, Bobby has always considered Lafayette home. Having earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Louisiana State University, he returned home in 2011 to begin his career with Darnall, Sikes & Frederick CPAs. Bobby believes in giving back to the community he calls home. While his financial knowledge has been put to use as a treasurer on various boards, he finds just as much joy in volunteering to cook for his church parish.
It’s extraordinarily gratifying to build understanding and trust with my clients. I have a range of insights that allow me to help them optimize all aspects of their financial position — and to create a plan that strives to get them where they want to be.
